Energy Efficiency consists of reducing the energy consumption needed to provide the same level of service. In outdoor lighting (industrial park roads, business parks, car parks), this doesn't simply mean "turning off lights," but rather illuminating better while consuming less, through more effective technologies (LED) and intelligent management.
It's a legal imperative (Outdoor Lighting Installation Energy Efficiency Regulation) and moral duty (carbon footprint reduction) for every owner of outdoor lighting installations.
Energy Audit: The starting point
You can't improve what you don't measure. To execute an efficiency plan (like switching to LED), you first need to know what you have: How many sodium vapor lamps remain? What wattages do they have? What's the current theoretical consumption?
Maptainer as support for the energy inventory
Maptainer does not measure consumption or calculate savings, but it provides the database an efficiency plan needs:
- Detailed inventory: the wattage, technology, or auxiliary equipment of each element is recorded as asset properties, with validation by data type.
- Renovation planning: the map paints assets by the value of a property (for example, by technology) and spatial queries return what lies inside an area, to prioritize where to invest.
- Replacement traceability: each equipment change is executed as a work order with its real cost of materials, hours, and travel, and is kept in the asset's history. The full export lets you take that data to the tool used to calculate and justify the savings.
